Our first day in Vietnam we took a walk around Pham Ngu Lao Street in District 1 of Ho Chi Minh City. Our hotel is located in a backpacker friendly area. There are tons of bars, clubs, restaurants, hostels and shops. Watch out buying from the street vendors, we purchased a few pairs of “Ray Ban’s” from a street vendor and immediately got swarmed by tons more of them.

The weather was a bit warmer than we where expecting (mid-high 80’s) with a fair amount of humidity so we decided to stop off at a little coffee shop and get some nice cold drinks. The iced Vietnamese coffee is the best! There where tons of little alley ways that winded through this entire district with some cool art studios and shops around every turn.
Don’t forget to check out the park during the day. It has lots of beautiful landscaping with huge trees, lots of grass and of course tons of flowers for Jubilee to take pictures of. If you go to the park in the morning you can see all the local people working out and doing exercises, it’s quite entertaining.
